Giancarlo Abete, the boss of the Italian football association (FIGC), is accepted to have drawn up a three-man shortlist of contenders to reinstate Lippi if, as expected, the 2006 World Cup-winning physical education instructor opts to mount down following the Azzurri"s counterclaim of their pretension in South Africa.

Fiorentina physical education instructor Cesare Prandelli is Abete"s tip choice, but the 52 year-old is believed to cite a move to Juventus, withdrawal Manchester City physical education instructor Mancini and Juventus physical education instructor Alberto Zaccheroni as the superfluous candidates.

Former Inter physical education instructor Mancini, who won 36 caps for Italy during his personification career, sealed a 3-year stipulate on his attainment as inheritor to Mark Hughes in December.

He pronounced "Maybe in 10 years I would be meddlesome [in handling Italy], but not now.

"If Lippi leaves after the World Cup, I think Prandelli would be a great choice. He is a great manager. I don"t know if Lippi will leave, but I am staying here."

City transport to Fulham on Sunday but full-back Wayne Bridge, who faces a month on the sidelines following groin surgery.
